I got a lot done today on my basement remodel. You would be amazed what can be accomplished with curtains and tablecloths combined with a few pieces of wood and some screws. When all is said and done I will have a 14 X 14 combination rec room/study area. So far the majority comment is “cute”. My answer is “it will serve the purpose”. I will post pictures when it is finished. My man-friend likes it and considering it is his house, that is all that really matters.
Tomorrow morning is the law school physical. I have always hated doctors. I go only when absolutely necessary. If I am sick, I do not want to know it. They told me to fast, so I know there is bloodwork involved. This is where my health insurance fails me. A complete physical with bloodwork plus the immunization nonsense should set me back a couple hundred. Right now, money is tight. Between vacation, a basement project, law school books, and one college freshman, I am going broke. I hate to even think about school shopping for my boys. So I won’t.
Some of my law school classmates are planning pre-orientation parties. So far they all have mention of alcohol, and they are all over an hour from my home. I hae pretty much decided not to attend, but I don’t want that to come back and bite me later. I need to be careful to not ostracize myself. To the best of my knowledge, I am the oldest person in my section by a fair degree. I would definately feel out of place at these parties. I have never been a very social person. So…the parties are out. I will force myself to do a happy-hour at least once within the first few weeks of school. By the sound of things, these gatherings will be ongoing. Should be interesting.
For today, I am calm and happy. My to-do list for tomorrow is not terrible but the heat is taking a toll on me. I will attempt to go to bed early tonight and get up early in the morning, i.e. by 7. This will be necessary when school starts, and it is out of the norm for me. I need to get in the habit now. Wish me luck and I hope my readers have a splendid day.
