Balancing Acts

A working single mom attending law school

Fish, finances, and Friday

Posted by newlawmom on January 13, 2009

I just bought three of the first, seem unable to manage the second, and am eager for the third to arrive. Law school is good but I am tired. Mornings and I do not get along. Today, for the first time ever, I fell asleep at the law school. Semi on purpose because I was afraid I would fall asleep during class if I didn’t take a nap. It is really hard to get to my studies before 8:30 or 9 at night because the house is busy and loud. My daughter is still home from school, and as much as I love having her here, it is easier to focus when she is gone. She will return to school next Monday.  The boys are prone to fighting with her more than they fight with each other. For today, the youngest has his first fish for the aquarium he got for Christmas and this has caused excitement (and some jealousy). So….I guess the real problem is I have school work to do and I am not making it a priority right now. It will wait until the kids go to bed. Hopefully I can be in bed by 10. Nothing on my to-do list will get done tonight. But I do have one, and pretty soon, I will need to make it happen. Or I will find myself without a summer law job amongst other things. Mostly I am just tired. I hope all my readers have a peaceful, restful evening.
